Today, our dog Orbit needed to update his Bordetella vaccine so we went to his vet in Glen Ellyn. We did “walk in” and yet took us just 10min till checking out. It was super quick.
Since it was nice day, we decided to go for a walk near Lake Michigan.
To avoid all the city traffic, we randomly picked one park called Forest Park, in Lake Forest. It’s probably about 45min (depending on traffic) North of Downtown Chicago and South of Waukegan.
The neighborhood was super fancy… like tons of mansions with nice gate and a drive way. It was quiet are and we saw lots of people were running and walking dogs. It’s so nice to walk looking around nice housings too ♥️
Though, to get to the actual beach through the park, seems like they’ll charge for $15 if non-resident on the weekends and holidays.
We just wanted to walk Orbit so we just stayed in the park.
I was always laughing about people in Chicago calls lake a “beach”. No offence, but to call a beach, in my mind is it has to be at ocean not a lake. However, it changed my mind LOL Although I didn’t smell ocean scent, the lake had waves and if you close your eyes, the sounds of wave crashing onto the shore made me feel like I was back in Hawaii.
We walked around about an hour or so and went to crave for our first meal of the day. It was past 1:30pm, I was starving and we had a dog with us. Back to the car and opened our favorite app Yelp to look for a restaurant accepting pets.
Then we found the restaurant that we went before. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar!! It was just about 20min West of where we were and it’s on the way home. Perfecto!!
We got there before 2pm but still we had to wait for 45min. I bet it’s popular place! It’s not just they accept dogs, but I love their food ♥️♥️♥️
We got a Squash soup and Coconut Shrimp Ceviche as appetizer, and I got a Pork Noodle Bowl and my husband got a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger + Tater tots on the side. And of course, we got Orbit a burger and brown rice.
It was pretty relaxed and nice Saturday 🙂
