We just happened to go shopping at Mitsuwa Marketplace in Arlington Heights to get some daikon radish and Karaage mix.
We didn’t know until yesterday, they expanded their “always super crowded food court” and added new restaurants there. Yet still crowded LOL

It’s one of my favorite dish that I always get when I’m in Japan is Tori Soboro Don and I’ve never met any restaurant serving this dish in my US life. So I had to try it 😂

Somehow on Yelp, they were rated with 3 stars out of 5 but probably mostly rated by those who doesn’t know much about Japanese food???🤔 People should know that Japanese food is unique and even a same dish has different ingredients and methods to cook depending on the region.
My overall rating, I would put 4.5 stars 😘
Soboro was exactly what I have expected😍 Good volume for decent price! Mayo Karaage was too much Mayo for me as I always make my food lighter taste. But, for those who are big fan of mayo, the flavor is thick and should be enjoyable 😁 👌
What was the negative side caused -0.5 stars was the temperature of Yakitori.
If I buy this bento box at say Shinkansen station to eat on the train, then I would give them 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.
But if I ordered it at the restaurant, then I would expect the chicken is just out of grill. Wasn’t cold but was not warm either lol I guess they’ve been busy so made tons of Yakitori at once in the beginning, so the temperature of Yakitori dropped to room temperature.
Can’t help but I would go back to this place if I can have enough stamina to fight over the table lol
