Today’s recipe is for dogs. I had leftover pumpkin puree from last week when I made a pumpkin bread, so I was thinking what I can make with it.
Since Orbit’s treats were running out, why not making cookies for him!! Oh and of course his favorite peanut butter is in it too 🙂
Ingredients are:
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (I think you can make it less like 2 cups or add water as necessary)
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 pumpkin puree**
- 2 1/2 tablespoon peanut butter***
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
*** Make sure the peanut butter doesn’t contain chocolate or XYLITOL (aka sugar-replacement sweetener or “all natural” sweetener), also no or low additives such as preservatives and extra sugar is better to go with. I would say if not sure, it’s simply better to use a peanut butter you can get at any pet stores. Those are made specifically for dogs✨
** I made this pumpkin puree from scratch. So I know nothing is added in this. It’s a pure fresh pumpkin. Pet stores also carry canned pumpkin puree for dogs if you prefer.
Instructions:
- First, mix eggs, pumpkin puree, and salt in a bowl until it becomes smooth.
- Then add peanut butter and mix well.
- Add whole wheat flour little by little and mix well until the dough is in workable conditions. At this time, try not to add too much water but make sure the dough is dry and stiff still.
- Pre-heat oven to 350F (175 C).
- Roll the dough and cut into pieces or if you have cookie shapes, you can use it as well.
- Bake in the oven until it’s baked or about 20min.
Tadaaaa!
He loves it ❤️
I gotta make sure he’s not eating treats too much 😂 haha
