Pregnancy Week 9

This pregnancy week 9 was incredible!

I had my first OBGYN visit and an ultrasound appointments.

Nothing can be more exciting than that. Since I have pretty mild pregnancy symptoms, I was pretty anxious about this whole pregnancy thing.

Why don’t I feel anything?

Am I really pregnant??

Is the baby alive???

Day by day my hours of sitting in front of my computer was getting longer and lots of internet information was just dumped in my head. Just STOP it. It’s convenient but not a good idea. As a result, it just confused me and many ‘what ifs’ were going around. I was going crazy about this.

However, this simple question was easily solved through my ultrasound appointment. Thanks to the technology!!

Pregnancy Week 9 Ultrasound Image – 3/25/2020
  • Baby’s Head to Toe Size: Approx. 3cm
  • Heartbeat Rate: 178 bpm
  • Condition: Healthy!! “Maybe the baby is sleeping” – according to the ultrasound technician

I could literally see the baby’s heart beating, tiny legs and arms, head and stomach are formed.

The heartbeat. The technician actually let us hear the baby’s heart beating!!! Very fascinating!! Finally, I could feel that I’m really really really pregnant, and more importantly the baby is healthy!!

What I’ve Learned through my 1st appointment and ultrasound are:

  • I should keep doing what I’ve been doing.
  • Don’t forget to do exercise.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • There are some medications on the shelf that are safe to pregnant women.
  • Stay away from a cat litter box.
  • Take prenatal vitamins.
    • Also Vitamin D for me. Doctor mentioned that many Illinoisans need vitamin D (due to lack of sunlight)…
  • +4lb at week 9, I am not over fed yet lol Food craving, can’t help.
  • They cannot tell how big the baby is going to be at this point.

It was a great experience.
