Week 23 and 24 was pretty mild. I noticed that the baby started kicking harder and harder.
I had another OBGYN visit during the week 24. I’m getting used to this usual procedures, starting with urinary test, then a nurse measures my height, weight, and blood pressure. This time though, the nurse measured my belly size and told me that my belly size is 21 inches. She measured somewhere around my belly button to the other side of my belly hill. I started measuring my belly size since last visit, but I couldn’t hear what the measurement was. So I’m glad I caught that number this time 🙂 Baby’s heartbeat was 146 bpm.
This visit was just a follow up visit, so nothing much was done, but discussion with my doctor. She also received a result from my follow-up ultrasound results, so she confirmed that the baby doesn’t have any issues.
One thing she told me to do is to get a glucose test done at a lab. This test is usually done between week 24 and 28. It’s a new test to me, but it sounds like I’m gonna drink a pretty sweet drink and wait for an hour, then they’ll take my blood to measure the glucose level. Hopefully I pass, otherwise I gotta redo the test but next time is gonna be for 3 hours.
So, I was gonna head to the hospital today. However, an accident happened!!
Our garage door doesn’t OPEN!!!
It seems like a huge spring is cut in half due to fatigue. We called our landlord and his handy man is gonna fix it this afternoon.
Until then, we cannot go anywhere, so I’m just gonna do the test next week.
Baby Size
Generally at week 23, baby is as big as a grapefruit, about an 11.4 inches and weighs 1.1 lbs.
At week 24, baby is a little bit bigger like a cantaloupe melon. The fetus is about 11.8 inches head to foot and weighs about 1.3 lbs.
Our baby is getting bigger and bigger and I can easily see it in my belly. Fortunately I don’t see any stretch marks yet though 🙂
My weight gain is also constant in average. I gained about 2.2 lbs during week 23 and about 1 lb in week 24.
Everybody is asking me how I’m doing, but pretty much all I can say is “I’m pretty normal”. It’s even harder for me to come up with something different LOL That much I’m in a steady state right now. I guess that’s a good thing? haha
We’ll see how I’m doing in the 3rd trimester 😉
