Pregnancy Week 18

What I’ve noticed during week 18 was my tummy size.

My baby bump is not that big yet but when I try to wear socks, it’s definitely making it harder. Now I have to reach further and bend my back more. It certainly is just a beginning though.

Speaking of size, here’s the fun fact of the baby size of week 18.

At week 18, a baby grows to about 5.6 inches long from crown to rump and 6.5 ounces in weight. People say it’s about the size of a cucumber or artichoke.

Weight gain of this week was about 0.8 lbs. I’m still on a track. Although, I started realizing my food cravings may come back sometime soon.

I get hungry!

No matter how much I eat, my stomach is getting angry lol I can still hold my desire and don’t have to eat right away at this point though.

I actually expected to see heavier weight gain from this week 18. I had lots of carbs like curry rice, pasta, and lots of rice!! Neh, I can’t help and at least I didn’t see a bad result so I guess that’s good.

Another issue I have is an allergy.

Not food related though.

Since the weather is getting nice and warm, all pollen started flying around. In my life, I have never had any pollen problems. Neither in Japan nor in Hawaii. NONE.

After few years of moving to Illinois, around this time, May – June, I started crying a lot. Nothing sad, but pollen just makes me cry with itchy eyes, throat, and nose lol Running nose is another annoying fact during season. I don’t know what is causing it, but I’m 70% convinced that it’s gotta be a cottonwood. Sounds like it’s native to North America and that’d explain why I didn’t have this pollen issue in Japan nor Hawaii. It would be nice to actually find out through allergy test though.

Anyways, so my husband introduced me my best friend, Claritin.

It’s an allergy relief tablet and it works pretty good on me! So before I take anything, I checked a list of safe to take during pregnancy that my doctor gave me and it is in the list!! YES!!!

I may not need much this year since we are still working from home, but definitely helps when I’m outside 🙂 I’m gonna build a vegetable garden this year, so I’ll post a photo when it’s ready!

So that’s about it for the week 18. See you next time 🙂
