It is almost the time we can see peak of fall foliage in Illinois.
This weekend was super nice day for a hiking so my girls and I decided to go to Starved Rock State Park. It is my 2nd time of the year and I still enjoy it 🙂
The weather was perfect. It was probably about 48F in the morning and 67F in daytime. I wore a lot just in case but ended up taking off my jacket.
Isn’t it nice? Today, we went further than the other time. I also could stop at Lover’s Leap Overlook, Eagle Cliff Overlook, Beehive Overlook, Lonetree Canyon, and LaSalle Canyon.
Some of them are just a small stop on the way, but overall from the trip that I’ve made twice, the must places are:
- French Canyon
- Starved Rock – at least once
- Eagle Cliff Overlook – you can see the dynamic Illinois River from the top
- Wildcat Canyon
- LaSalle Canyon
I still haven’t gone to the other half though. Maybe we will try next year! 🙂
