My Favorite Vietnam Restaurant

I can say winter is here already. On this season, what I always crave for is something hot♥

Of course when it comes to pho, the weather doesn’t matter to me. Even on a hot day, I can still go for pho. Who doesn’t love noodles anyways? haha and somewhere in my head thinks pho is still healthier than ramen? 😉

So here we go. This restaurant called, Pho Ha in Glendale Heights, is one of my favorite Vietnam restaurant in Illinois. It’s quite popular and known as the best pho restaurant in these area. Believe it or not, whenever I go there for lunch, there is always a waiting line. I would recommend to avoid around noon.

I usually order their pho with sliced beef and meatballs here. Although it’s beef pho and not chicken or veggie pho, I still think pho is relatively healthy anyways 😛 But, since I have been exercising at gym lately, I just decided to try something new 🙂

First order for my husband is this. I just don’t know why but I LOVE their pork. I wonder what kind of secret ingredients they use to marinate the pork. Can’t resist the deep flavor in it. They usually pour their sweet sour sauce with some fish sauce, called Nước Chấm, over the noodles. Lots of people may not be familiar with the fish sauce and I wasn’t big fan of it either in the beginning. It’s kinda stinky like fish and unique taste. If you don’t mind, I highly recommend to use it.

Grilled Pork Tenderloin & Shrimp Eggrolls ( Bún thịt nướng chả giò )

Next is for me. A little light flavored stew with noodles. I’m familiar with a Japanese kind of stew, which almost like Japanese curry – thick stew. So this stew was more like soup type I would say. Their carrots and beef were so well cooked and seasoned and it’s mouth melting ♥ It does look red but it’s not really spicy at all. From the fat from beef being cooked for a long time, it looks almost like ra-yu floating though haha I guess It’s more like beef version of Tonkotsu soup.

Stew w/ Egg Noodle and Rice Noodle (  hủ tiếu bò kho )

Overall I really enjoyed both meals but yet pho cannot be replaced :p It may be not because of the dish itself, I don’t know, but it’s more like pho is a family to me LOL It makes me feel something is missing if I don’t order a pho. hmm

I guess I’ve been eating so many pho, and in my mind this is a solid equation.

Vietnamese Restaurant = Pho

I’m gonna go back to the restaurant again soon 🙂
